Candidate: Gabriel Cain
As the close of nominations to the board elections for Ignition NW draw near, I find myself just returned from Critical Massive in the beautiful valley where Skalitude is located. It was my very first Critical Massive. What I know from it: this community is for me. I felt like I belonged; like I was welcomed by everyone. That's a feeling that I haven't felt very much in my mundane life. I know that I want to do everything I can to support and foster this community. I want to be a part of it, and I want it to thrive.
What I bring: I am a technologist by day. I have dealt with complex systems with many competing requirements, and have had to deliver on a schedule. I know I can bring that experience to bear on the issues that face working with the Arts in the Pacific Northwest. I am also an artist: I work with metal, sculpture, and photography. I enjoy doing art, and I enjoy having my art seen. I want to support others in those same goals and dreams.
I know now that supporting INW would be very rewarding for me, and for the community. It's something I want to support, and because of that I'm tossing my hat into the ring.
Thank you,
Gabriel Cain
