Do I have to bring my own food?
Yes. This is an extension of radical self-reliance. Please bring food, water and whatever you need to prepare it. Please consider that this land may be tinder dry and you will need to keep ANY camp stoves off the ground for safety = BRING A TABLE.
Do I have to bring camping equipment?
Yes. The only thing provided is a plot of land. Electricity will not be available.
Are kids allowed?
YES!!!!! Children are more than welcome and will be present at the event. We do ask that parents be responsible and supervise their children at all times. There are no child care facilities on site, and we encourage parents to make arrangements with other families. Children under 12 are free.
How many people can come?
We currently have a capacity of 500. Previous events have sold out so there is a real risk of selling out so please buy your ticket promptly. Parking is VERY limited so PLEASE carpool.
May I come early?
No.
Is there a guest list?
No, this is a private event, and all attendees are required to pay admission. As a state level non-profit (future 501c3), after expenses all our money goes towards the artists and grants.
What are the rules?
The rules for Critical Massive are to respect the experience of those around you. We have a zero tolerance policy for illegal drugs, and you must be over 21 to consume alcohol. We do not provide or sell alcohol on site.
Is there vending allowed?
This is a no vending event. To quote our statement of principles: "In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience."
Are there trash cans?
There are NO TRASH CANS. Why? We believe in a "leave no trace" philosophy. The event is pack-in, pack-out. Every camper will be provided with a trash bag in case you forgot one.
Are there washrooms onsite?
Yes, there will be porta-potties once again this year.
Are pets allowed?
No.

Sound systems must be registered with the entertainment coordinator. Please be respectful of your neighbors and campers. This is pristine valley, sound will echo and we ALL want to be able to enjoy our experience.
Can I get in free / cheap if I help out?
We love participants who want to help. As in the past, a few extraordinary volunteers have exceeded expectations and have been gifted tickets.
Can I get a discount ticket?
For those showing true financial need, we have five tickets set aside. We will have information regarding these tickets out shortly.
Where does the money go?
Critical Massive is designed to be a break-even event. If there is profit, it will be managed by the event's sponsor, Ignition Northwest, where it will be used to fund the next event / art grants in our annual cycle.
Do any staff get paid?
Nope. We get nada, zippo, zilch. We volunteer and participate like everyone else.
