Ignition Northwest has allocated $1000 toward grants for workshops at Critical Massive. Workshop grants will be available on a first come, first served basis until May 15th. Submit your application for review and you could receive $ for your workshop! Please note that this is intended to fund innovative, intensive workshops that would not otherwise happen without funding. For small expenses, we are assuming that presenters will assume those costs. Also note that there will be some materials on hand for you as well as resources like space, magic boards, microphones & amps, electricity and so forth.
We have 7 glorious days to celebrate, relax, dance, have fun and maybe even LEARN. And that's where YOU come in. As on the Playa, you create the content of Critical Massive and we are calling out for those who wish to lead workshops...
Do you have a topic dear to your heart? Would you like to hold a talk, forum, skill share, clothing swap or what not? We are open to all topics for all ages and interests, but here are some ideas:
- Hooping
- Belly Dancing
- Poi Spinning or Making
- Ecstatic Dance
- Sustainable Burning Man (How can camps be greener?)
- Camp Technology Transfer ("Wow, how DID they build that graywater/kitchen/shower system???)
- Intentional Community Building
- Art for the People type stuff (How to do public and playa large scale art).
- Other Art workshops (hands on crafty stuff)
- Entheogenics and /or Safe Drug Use
- Staying Healthy on the Playa
- Newbie Playa Brainstorm (for first timers in 2008 or those that want to brush up on their lists and prep plans)
- Costume Free For All Swap and Craft Meet
TICKETS We cannot provide COMP tickets to workshop presenters so you must already have a ticket or be planning to get one.
Once we know the workshops, the Workshop Coordinator can help you to:
- Find space: either at your camp, or one of the many public areas available to us at the site.
- Get the materials you need like amplification, tables, power etc.
- Schedule and publish your event to get a Critical Mass (pun intended)
- Generally help you get the workshop going
