Critical Massive

Held every summer, Critical Massive is the Pacific Northwest region’s premiere regional burn, created to promote the principles of Burning Man on a more intimate, local scale. Critical Massive strives to celebrate the arts through music, interactive displays, installations and performance. The first Critical Massive was held in 2003, and it has been steadily growing in size and importance. Though it began as a 4 day event weekend, the 2007 event has been expanded to a full week.

Participants come primarily from the Puget Sound area - but also from as far away as Portland, Vancouver, and Idaho. They camp among the green fields and woodlands of the Pacific Northwest, living out of tents, vehicles and geodesic domes, while setting up elaborate theme camp installations and performance stages.

The event was held at the Lake Bronson Family Nudist Resort for its first three years, then moved to the Lake Associates Recreation Club in 2006. Critical Massive 2007 will be held in Maple Valley, WA.
