Projects

These are projects that Ignition Northwest has participated in; as project managers, committee members, or financial sponsors.

Burien Arts Commission
"The [Arts] Commission passed a motion in May to endorse the proposal by Commissioners Dane Johnson and Kathy Justin to collaborate with Ignition Northwest and the Black Rock Arts Foundation so that shared outdoor public art sculptures could be located in Burien’s downtown. These pieces would be on loan from the Bay Area and would be the first location for these artworks in the Pacific Northwest. Parks and Public Works staff will meet with Commissioners Johnson and Justin to determine best locations for the piece (s) and potential timelines for installation."

Rainier Vista Central Park
"Ignition Northwest, a non-profit that was created to foster the Burning Man culture of radical self-expression, participatory art and sustainable community in the Pacific Northwest, will work with Neighborhood House to gather input, design and create public art for Central Park by engaging members of the Rainier Vista Community!"

Seattle Memorial Temple
The Temple of Light (aka Seattle Memorial Temple Project) is an all-volunteer effort borne from the desire to honor the victims of the Capitol Hill shooting on March 25th, 2006, when six young members of our community were taken before the gunman took his own life. In their memory, we have set out to build a temporary art installation in the form of a beautiful temple.
